Baby Safety Month | Baby First Aid Courses in Hertfordshire

September is Baby Safety Month, which is a great reminder to make sure your knowledge is up to scratch should you ever need to save a child's life.

It is easy to get overwhelmed with the amount of choice there is but remember;

Any course is better than no course at all.

The British Red Cross offer a selection of first aid training including both adult and baby first aid.  The closest training centres are in Aylesbury, Harrow, Hertford and Milton Keynes with many more options in London.  Courses run from 10am till 2:30 with half hour for lunch.

Prices range from £45 - £60 depending on the location.

The NCT run slightly shorter courses along side the British Red Cross in different areas.  They have both morning and afternoon classes with locations in St Albans, High Wycombe & Maulden and you can take along your children.

Prices are around £30 but you may pay more or less depending on your area (I paid £30 to take the course in St Albans)

To learn first aid with St John Ambulance you have to unfortunately travel into London to Marylebone.  Children over 12 are allowed to attend the course which is great for those with children wanting to start baby sitting (children under 16 must attend with an adult)

Courses are 3 hours long and cost £30

Daisy First Aid do things a little differently, offering first aid training hosted by you in your home.  Gather together 4 or more friends and a trainer comes to you for a 2 hour class.
There are trainers all over Hemel, St. Albans, Harpenden and the surrounding areas so you should have no trouble finding a trainer that would work for you.

Classes cost £25 per person with a minimum of 4 people.
