Little Poppy came from Berkhamsted for her newborn shoot when she was 10 days old.

And when I say little, I really mean it.  She was born at Luton & Dunstable Hospital at 35 weeks and weighed just 5.5lb. 

She was the perfect little sleeper but my goodness did she like a good wriggle!  I would get her into position, let her get comfy, and then we were good to go....until she decided it was time to wriggle again!

I kept the background blankets nice and neutral while adding pops of colour from wraps and blankets and included a few hats and headbands to get a good variety of images for Poppy's mum to choose from.

Most of my hats and headbands swamped her!  Nothing that a little big of tucking couldn't hide!

Poppy was very helpful in being the first newborn to model this beautiful new bonnet.  It even fitted!

Nothing shows just how tiny a baby is like when you place them in their parent's hands.  Even in the short time since her newborn shoot I can guarantee she won't fit like this anymore. 

Poppy was a little star of a model and I hope I get to photograph those gorgeous cheeks again in the future!
