Where to see Fireworks in Milton Keynes 2024

For me, Bonfire night marks the start of winter.

There’s nothing quite like getting wrapped up in scarves and gloves whilst watching a fabulous display.  The hot chocolate, toasted marshmallows and hotdogs all add to the fun!  To be fair, it’s a photographer’s dream!

Sadly, the main Fireworks display in Campbell Park has been cancelled this year due to lack on sponsors. In 2023 it was saved last minute so keep an eye out in local groups just in case that happens again.

Luckily, there are lots of other displays to choose from all around Milton Keynes. It’s worth keeping in mind that they may be a bit busier this year due to the Campbell Park event being cancelled so buy tickets in advance or arrive early where you can.

Alternatives to Fireworks on Bonfire Night

Bonfire night at home

You don’t need to venture out on Bonfire night to enjoy yourselves.  In fact, if you have pets and children who aren’t keen on the noise, it’s best to stay at home.  If you’re not a fan of sparklers, a disco in the garden (or indoors away from the noisey bangs) with glow-sticks is a fun alternative.  Having music on is a great way to distract nervous dogs and cats. If you have a firepit or chiminea, use them as a safer alternative to a bonfire and get toasting those marshmallows!

Cinema

The cinema is a great evening out for the family if you want to avoid the bangs or just do something a little different. At the time I’m writing this, listings haven’t been released yet but check out the Odeon at Milton Keynes Stadium or Cineworld at Xscape

Crafts

Crafting is fun for the whole family. From paint splatters on black paper to make fireworks to making and decorating paper rockets - you can have a ton of fun at home.  Search on Pinterest for Fireworks Crafts for TONS of ideas.

Cooking

Celebrate by cooking up some wintery treats.  S’mores are easy to make but you could also try cinder toffee and caramel apples.

I hope you have an amazing Bonfire night, however you decide to celebrate.

I’ll be at home with Classical FM on, trying to keep the dog settled while sneaking a look out the window every now and then to see some of the local displays!

If you get any gorgeous fireworks pictures, I’d love to see them! Tag me @BeckiWPhotos on instagram so I can take a look.
