Family Photographer, St Albans | The Hall Family

We have worked with Becki a number of times and have always found her shoots to be relaxed and enjoyable. She provides a wonderful variety of images to choose from and always has great ideas and props! We look forward to working with her again!

I first met the Hall family at their home in St Albans back in April 2015.

They had just had their little girl Ottilie and asked me to travel to them for a posed newborn session.  After managing to find a space I didn't have to parallel park in (yes I know I only drive a KA, but I can't park it!) I set up in Ottilie's nursery using natural light from her bedroom window.
I can still remember her session really clearly but when I look back at her images it feels like a lifetime ago!

In August they got in touch again and this time booked a Family Session at Heartwood forest.

When we got there the car park was closed so we had to do some sneaky parking at the side of the road and head in on foot.
Fortunately, a closed carpark meant no people so we had the place to ourselves!

Ottilie was only 4 months at this point so I had a huge shock when I got to her session to find out she could sit already!  I remember she found sitting in the tall grass absolutely mesmorising.

Check out the outfit they chose for this session - SO CUTE!

Next it was Christmas and time for a festive mini session.  Word of mouth means SO MUCH and Ottilie's mum definitely won a gold star as I ended up photographing most of her NCT group.
By this time Ottilie was confidently pulling herself up to standing and trying to fling herself off of the bed.

When I got the email letting me know that they were expecting another baby I was so excited.  This was going to be my first time photographing a second sibling in the same family!

Hubert arrived early October and it was time to head back to St Albans and find another parking space.

Although we had planned for a sleepy, posed newborn session like his big sister's, Hubert had other ideas.  He was quite happy being wide awake.
We switched things up and took some more lifestyle images instead and I absolutely love the results.

I think this image of the two kids with their mum is going to be a firm favourite of mine for a long long time.

Finally (but hopefully not for good) my last catch up with the Hall's was this Christmas for another mini session.
Their simple little matching Christmas outfits were adorable and Ottilie had a lot of love to give her little brother :)

Instead of just digitals from Hubert's newborn session they chose to order prints, three of which are now hung above their stairs for them to see every day.

I think it's so lovely to have so many memories from the last couple of years captured for them to look back on, and I feel privileged to have been a part of it.
